Week Eight ~ MKMMA ~ Signs of the Infinite

By Week 8 we have many signs. Vital signs. Infinite numbers of them. Perhaps there are too many signs? It’s called environmental pollution, right?

But, using those signs to break addiction?    Genius  🙂

Master Key 8:3 states, “Methods whereby we can substitute habits of constructive thinking for those which we have found produce only undesirable effects are therefore of primary importance.”

I immerse myself literally into Week 8 of the Master Keys Mastermind Alliance. There are infinite ways of seeing signs. For many months I’ve swum 3 times a week, for an hour, and I see 4 shapes in particular…… everywhere! Can you see them?

10857985_916372868388026_3931158293914478716_nWhat comes to mind is CHOICE.   The Law of Substitution is active!!!   Every time I touch the wall at the end of a lap… BANG, High-5 right onto a blue rectangle…  I feel the tile as I say, “I always keep my word”.  As I swim, blue tiles are everywhere. Everywhere!!

Red circles line the lanes; Yellow squares (turned on edge), say not to dive in shallow water and not to run and slip; Green triangles flap above to let swimmers know there is only 25 metres to the end.   Well, to  OTHERS  that’s what they say.     To me?                          They’re eliminating the negative, and filling me with infinite good.

These 4 symbols have become A Key to an incredible future. They help lead me to my Dharma, my Definite Major Purpose in Life. dharma-lost-68322

Swimming is meditation… the black line under. The forever-moving feast of water with its infinite patterns and hues all around. The slow physical rhythm of  arms,   legs,   rolling my body to breathe…    and  as  I  breathe  out?      I can speak underwater it seems!!                “Do it Now” bubbles up to the surface as I expel air from my lungs. Even makes me smile as I imagine other swimmers going past in the next lane…. What was that?                       Did someone just say, Do it Now?

Backstroke gives me the luxury of  “I can be what I will to be”.                                      Perfectly timed for 2 strokes.                                                                                                 Rhythm,  progress,  rhythm,  Dharma,  rhythm,  focus,  rhythm….  on  and  on….               on  and  on  in  the  precious  water.

I greet this day with love in my heart.

Week Seven ~ MKMMA ~ Cutting the Cord

It’s hard to have ‘no opinion’ when you’re forced to leave your childhood home.

Thank goodness for my DMP. My Definite Major Purpose. It doesn’t include having my childhood home as a sentimental pivot point.

This is the week I’m supposed to be the star of my MKMMA world. Yet I’m up to my armpits in cardboard boxes and tears of frustration and loss. I can’t find anything important…. isn’t that interesting? So what is it I’m pretending not to know?

I can’t think straight. From the frustration of total lack of control and communication? Perhaps it’s just grief? Whatever it is, it feels horrible.

The hard mental work I’ve been doing and the results I’ve been getting slip through my fingers for a few days, and the thoughts I’m having are not the thoughts I want to “wire” together. What direction am I going? Where’s my compass?

I’ve been sifting through old photos of Mum’s life. The photos we thought were lost forever were found in a nondescript box under the house. Total joy!!! Followed by hours of memories and lots of time wasted. I was wallowing. Big time.

All this held me back, and feeling forced to move created lots of negative thoughts.

My choice?  ball-and-chain1 Keep it?

It’s my time to move on…  to see and feel my movie and hear my soundtrack. It’s time to go a new direction. With my compass as my powerful reminder. Already my thoughts are more positive and the 7 day challenge has begun.

Week Six ~ MKMMA ~ Make your Bed and Don’t Ring the Bell !

There’s an extraordinary speech on You Tube by a the 9th Commander of the U.S. Special Operations Command …  if you’re in business, if you want to achieve success in life, there are 10 Life Lessons… you’d be well advised to watch the video and take good notes.

030622-N-3953L-106  SEAL training (and its notorious Hell Week), is an unthinkably brutal training gauntlet designed to separate the born warriors from the merely mortal.

And how do you get through this torturous indoctrination? Seemingly, it begins with making your bed every morning. Simple, repetitive ….. there’s a theme here that sounds like MKMMA , yes?  🙂

Admiral William H. McRaven at the University of Texas this year gave the Commencement Address of a lifetime, almost 37 years to the day since he himself graduated from UT.

And what an action-packed 37 years it has been…. What starts here changes the world, is the slogan of the University, and, in that group of 8,000 eager graduating students, there must be at least a few world-changers?

But, besides all the amazing steps and tips for life, one particular piece of information and the way it mathematically rolled out, simply took my breath away. It can be applied to any person. And more importantly, it gave every single student at that event the ability to be a world-changer, not just the chosen few.

And here it is….

The average citizen will meet 10,000 people in their lifetime.

If every single student here changed the lives of just 10 of those people…. and each of those 10 people changed the lives of another 10 people…. and then another 10….

In 5 generations (125 years), the UT Class of ’14 would have changed the lives of 800 million people…. (roll that around in your head for a moment).

That’s over twice the population of the United States. And if you go one more generation, then you can change the lives of the entire population of the world. Eight Billion People.

And if you think it’s hard to change the lives of ten people, you’re wrong. The Admiral gives some wonderful stories of lives being changed every day during his years in service. Not by huge acts of bravery, no. Simply by someone following their gut instinct and making a right turn instead of a left. Watch to the video and you’ll see what I mean. Life-changing moments can look disarmingly simple.

But let’s bring it closer to home… six people began this round of MKMMA because I opened my mouth. When I look back on my previous career, I know there are at least three people who began their careers with my help and still love what they do to this day.

And as my Network Marketing career develops and I become the person I intend to become, there will be people who’s lives will change in a profound way. Just as mine has, from one woman who I barely knew making at least 6 calls to let me know about an industry I had no knowledge of. (Thank goodness she persisted with something as simple as a phone call.)

As well, think about the MKMMA Class of ’14…. think about the millions of people Mark Januszewski and the whole MKMMA team plan to touch with their incredible courses over the coming years. Rolling out significant change in the lives of many, because it’s beginning where it counts – the self development of each individual. The ripple effect is going to be  H U G E!!!!

Week Five ~ MKMMA ~ Sensitive Order

In my 30’s, one of my favourite books was “Sensitive Chaos”, by Theodor Schwenk.

I highly recommend it. Sensitive Chaos shows the unifying forces that underlie all living things, and observes such phenomena as the flight of birds; the formation of internal organs such as the heart, eye, and ear, air patterns in musical instruments; the formation of mountain ranges and river deltas; weather and space patterns; and even the formation of the human embryo.

I see so much order in the world around me in my MKMMA journey…. I get in my car, and of course we all drive on the right side of the road (which is actually the left side here). Streams and streams of hundreds and thousands of cars and trucks and bikes…. Imagine the CHAOS that would ensue if we all drove whichever direction we wanted at any speed?

I get to the swimming pool early in the morning, and we all swim laps in a certain order… up on the left and back on the right. We all fall into this pattern, dare I say, naturally?

Who makes these natural rules? And with so much order all around me; in nature, in maths and music, in the running of a home, in offices and workplaces and swimming pools and roads all around the globe… in fact, if I look long enough, I will see it everywhere…. I’m sure.

With all that order, “outside”, why is my conscious mind in such dis-order?

I used to think I ran my life… but all this time, it ‘s been my subconscious….

So, to cease being a whiney, hiney thumbsucker (as one classic trainer has been heard to say), I must gain control of my mind. Repetition of the small things every day train my mind.

To sit, to read, to write, to be of service, to observe… up on the left, down on the right, up on the left, down on the right…. everywhere there are signs; to growth, to harmony, to new life.

And these repetitions begin to chip away every single day at the concrete surrounds with which my subby has encased my life. These consistent small things bring order, from chaos.

As you can see… this is a mission of titanic proportions.

Week Four ~ MKMMA 2014 …. Acceptance

I can’t get this song out of my head this week. These sweet words preceed a huge drum thing and then a thunderous,

BOY! you’ve got to CARRY THAT WEIGHT!

CARRY THAT WEIGHT A LONG TIME! …..

The realisation of the weight I’ve been carrying forever…. being a “good girl”, to the black sheep, to a high alcohol-intake, high stress job, to a working mother, to a guilt-ridden jack-of-all-trades, master of none.

Yep, the simplicity of repeating profound words and phrases; sitting, morning and night, being of service, seeing coloured shapes everywhere I go…. having a routine that is more important to me than my subby’s often loud voice and antics. I now call her, (my subby), “she who protesteth too much”, instead of, “she who must be obeyed”. All those sublime actions that make up MKMMA …. they are my ticket to freedom. I see it. I feel it. I know it.   I   a c c e p t.

Part of me wants to run to a cave (with wifi) and devote every moment to my MKMMA practice. Alas, life goes on around me. The lounge floor covered in books, childhood games and puzzles and the children’s year books from school – all waiting to be packed into cartons for storage until we find the abode for our next chapter of life.

Wherever that is, the blessing of MKMMA comes with me. Thank goodness.

MK 4/25 – Over-work or over-play or over-bodily activity of any kind produces conditions of mental apathy and stagnation which makes it impossible to do the more important work which results in a realisation of conscious power. We should, therefore, seek the Silence frequently. Power comes through repose; it is in the Silence that we can be still, and when we are still, we can think, and thought is the secret of all attainment.

I can be what I will to be.

Week Three ~ MKMMA 2014 … finally, a crack in the armour

Week 3 was full of ups and downs… but by the end of the week, there was light.

More light and more possibility than there has been for a while. And the small triumphs of reading, sitting, achieving and keeping my promises have opened the door of hope. I know it’s going to be alright in the end… and if it’s not alright, it’s not the end!

Coming up next week I break free from my old life.  Moving house.  Moving from my childhood home… the one I left at 17 and came back to at 49. Ten years later, there are no elderly parents to care for and no reason to stay. It’s the dividing up of a home and the final closing of a door opened thousands of times by a hand that just keeps getting older.

It’s the final look at my mother’s Spring flowers…. all blooming so beautifully right now. Like they know it’s the final Spring. Amongst my MKMMA routine of sitting and reading and my chores and packing, I document each kind of flower. Remembering when she planted it, why it was placed where it is in the garden. All the different lavenders….. oh, and how she’d love to see that special French lavender that was so hard to get going….

The words from the scroll, from the Week 3 reading…. they are like a balm on my soul.

The repetition is intensely satisfying. I see a new beginning where I have a genuine chance to shine my own light and be out in the open… in integrity, gaining success. My DMP totally changed from being one that I thought was the “right one”, to one that is my own. Finally!

And that “owning” of my DMP has perhaps brought the toughest moments of the week. Feeling guilty for having my own wants and needs (PPNs). Just for me…. is that okay?

That has been the source of struggle this week. Me, mine, theirs… where do I end and others begin? Where do I start and others end? I thought my boundaries were clearer? Where do I stand with my loved ones when I write a DMP that is centred on my own personal needs? Oh…. just fine! We’re all in this together, but this part is just me, right?

The Master Keys sink in further, and and come to my rescue…. “Eliminate, therefore, any possibility to complain of conditions as they have been, or as they are, because it rests with you to change them and make them what you would like them to be.”

s996315027399143838_p9_i1_w190    And then… after the incredible explanation of the Cerebro-Spinal System and the Solar Plexus… and the Energy we have available to us…. okay, it’s now time to,  (32) “mentally determine that you relax every muscle and nerve, until you feel quiet and restful and at peace with yourself and the world. The Solar Plexus will then be ready to function and you will be surprised at the result.”

Okaaaay…… time to let my light shine 🙂

Week Two ~ MKMMA 2014 …. Baby Steps

Why is it that everything tiny is so cute?

This week I was struggling with all the tiny things that make up my MKMMA daily schedule. Getting an overall picture of my mornings… middle of the day and end of the day. Especially because I was away from home. Traveling, and out of my normal routine.

Replacing old habits with new. Making myself do things at a certain time of the day… every day without fail… well, I did fail a couple of times this week. And that wreaked havoc inside, knowing that failing also becomes a habit.

So, going back to the small things, Blue Rectangles and Red Dots, ticking them off and seeing the old pattern of “the way things were”, becoming a new “the way things are”.  My new MKMMA “homework”, my MKMMA sessions, my MKMMA days becoming my MKMMA world. My new inner world.

Stretching out my comfort zone into a new inner life. It comes at a price. The price of commitment. The price of dedication. The price of promises KEPT!  And the cornerstones of John R Wooden’s Pyramid of Success, Industriousness and Enthusiasm, now make more and more sense.

Industriousness ~ There is no substitute for work. Worthwhile results come from hard work and careful planning.

Enthusiasm ~ Brushes off upon those with whom you come in contact. You must truly enjoy what you are doing.

Words are made up of small letters. And these two words leave the biggest clue for me this week.

Success… everyone is seeking success. It’s why I’m undertaking a 6 month course of self-discovery. Right?  But…. what is success… truly?

Webster Online says:

SUC-CESS   noun   (Latin successus, from succedere.   First Known Use: 1537)

1. obsolete :  outcome, result
2.

a :  degree or measure of succeeding

b :  favorable or desired outcome; also :  the attainment of wealth, favor, or eminence

:  one that succeeds

If anyone knows about success it has to be Maja Angelou. I like her definition better than Webster. But, what about John R Wooden? How did he define success?

Well, Mr Wooden wasn’t satisfied with Webster’s definition of success. He felt like young people deserved a healthier definition,

Success is peace of mind which is
a direct result of self-satisfaction
in knowing you made the effort to
become the best that you are
capable of becoming.”

 and then laid out for them the ingredients of success in this chart. He put Success, according to his definition, at the apex.

Index cards, shapes and colours…. these tasks are keys to a new neural pathway. Baby steps. INDUSTRIOUSNESS!!!

Baby steps that have a cumulative affect to a life with purpose, on purpose and of purpose. A whole new life within ….. a life of beauty, with authenticity. Instead of all my new tasks being seen (by me) as painful intrusions into my old life…. you know, that old “comfortable” life that sucks totally, my point of view has flipped. ENTHUSIASM!!!

I WANT THIS!!!  No matter what the price. I want my PPNs and my DMP.

So all my baby steps are beautiful…. totally…..   baby-steps-to-big-dreams
